Strange tendention.
Why can't people say what they really think on other people right to the eyes, without long intrigues and hypocrisy?
Is it so hard? I think it will only make life much easier, knowing who loves you and knowing who hates you?

Or even worse. Sometimes people even have pity on others.
Don't they understand that if you pity someone, you not only recognize his or her weakness, you weaken them even more.
Pity eradicates those who are pitied, while the person who pities thinks that he made a noble act and is proud of himself.
But it only prevents the weak from becoming more strong and self-sufficient.
No, I don't think that such thing as mercy or forgiveness is the abomination of pure evil. No. Those are really high feelings which lead to truly noble acts. But not the pity to those who can't find enough willpower to have their own opinion and enough strength to walk their own way in this life.

Sorry, it bothered me for a while.

It is because people are afraid. Afraid of truth, and afraid of consequences of their actions. Often they are afraid to lie, too - for lies have consequences of their own. So they stray somewhere ' in between ' .

But why can't they overcome their fear, why can't they understand that in such cases truth is a much more powerful ally than lies?
This is beyond my ability to understand.

It is because when you have lied once, it is much easier to lie a second time - than to speak the truth and thus admit that you have lied before. And every person has his personal, small or big, protective barrier of lies, which consists of many individual pieces.
